Did you know nearly 500 million older adults globally face significant polypharmacy risks, with a 50% higher chance of adverse drug interactions when using five or more medications? Additionally, they encounter over two potential drug-food interactions monthly, sometimes leading to disabilities and deaths.

In the current landscape, there are indeed competitors in the market. However, our competitive analysis reveals that these alternatives fall short of addressing crucial pain points such as drug-to-food interactions and missing drug doses. Furthermore, the existing options are not tailored to the unique needs of the elderly society, exhibiting issues such as information overload and poor UI design. Additionally, adverse interaction checkers for other competitors on the market rely heavily on manual data entry, leading to limited interaction coverage.

To address this critical concern, we developed EasyMed—an innovative interaction checker painstakingly designed to aid and educate the broader public, with a particular focus on senior adults. Its primary aim is to empower users to swiftly and accurately identify multidrug interactions with deep learning technology, mitigating potential consequences effectively. predict adverse interactions based on the compound structures of drugs and food. Presently, our model achieves an impressive accuracy of 93%, covering 200k drug-drug interaction pairs and 330k drug-food interaction pairs. Meanwhile, we are optimizing the model continuously to get a higher accuracy rate and more comprehensive coverage.

Leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies, we also offer users accessible features including drug and food recognition, text-to-speech functionalities, and clear explanations for complex medical terminology. To cater to a broader range of use cases, we added additional functionalities such as drug list management and access to informative articles about polypharmacy.

In the words of one our elderly user, "I would definitely recommend this app to my friends," and as Physician Ryan stated, "I think this app is going to be a game-changer for us and our patients." EasyMed stands as a transformative solution addressing the critical issue of polypharmacy, with the potential to revolutionize medication management for all.
