Off-road driving often involves complex terrain, where vehicles are easily stranded in snow, sand, mud, or soft ground. Traditional recovery relies on two independent tools: shovels for obstacle clearing and recovery boards for traction. Their separate design causes excessive onboard storage occupation, cumbersome carrying/deployment, and reduced rescue efficiency—critical drawbacks in extreme off-road scenarios.
To address this pain point, this project develops an integrated off-road recovery tool based on origami-inspired structural design. Its core innovation is integrating shovel and recovery board functions into one foldable device. Adopting origami’s foldable principle, it achieves lightweight compactness without sacrificing structural strength or functional reliability, enabling quick conversion between digging and traction modes to streamline rescue and reduce user burden.
This solution solves traditional tools’ storage and deployment issues, enhancing recovery efficiency and safety. With portability, multifunctionality and cost-effectiveness, it provides an innovative technical solution for off-road enthusiasts and rescue teams, boasting significant application value and market potential globally.
