Prevelo Alpha Series

The Alpha Series MkIII is a complete redesign of Prevelo's flagship line of children's bicycles, built around a simple idea: kids deserve bikes engineered specifically for them, not scaled-down versions of adult bikes. The six-bike range spans from the Alpha Zero balance bike for first-time riders through the Alpha Five, a capable 26-inch bike for older kids ready to ride further and faster.

Every Alpha Series bike was redesigned from the frame up. We dropped weight across the entire line while adding meaningful performance upgrades. The Alpha Three, for example, comes in at just 16.9 pounds, making it one of the lightest geared 20-inch bikes available anywhere. For kids whose total body weight might be 50 pounds, every gram matters.

The Alpha One and Two introduce our patent-pending BALANCE-TEC system, which lets parents convert the bike between balance bike and pedal bike modes in minutes using only hex keys. Unlike systems that bolt pedals onto a kick bike, BALANCE-TEC was designed from the start to deliver real pedaling performance in both configurations, with a self-extracting crank, protective bottom bracket shields that double as footrests in balance mode, and an integrated chainstay key for tool-free chain removal.

The larger bikes in the range, the Alpha Three, Four, and Five, get hydraulic disc brakes that give young riders confident, low-effort stopping power on pavement, gravel, and light trails. Multi-speed models use clutched Microshift Acolyte derailleurs paired with an 11-38t cassette, delivering 90 percent more gear range than typical kids' bikes while virtually eliminating dropped chains. Other upgrades include sealed cartridge bearings throughout, double-wall tubeless-ready rims, and built-in top tube mounts for the Rider Supply Pod, our first top tube bag and an invitation for kids to carry their own snacks, tools, and trailside treasures.
