Home fire sprinklers have remained fundamentally unchanged for over 100 years. We are on a mission to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by fire in domestic properties through the provision of intelligent fire suppression systems. We designed Automist 13D for situations which are challenging for traditional fire sprinklers (e.g. low water, freezing or seismic risk, modular construction, retrofit and heritage). Our fire protection system provides rapid activation for enhanced life protection and uses less water to safeguard your possessions. It blends seamlessly into the smart home with its modern wall-mounted design, whilst eliminating large tanks and leak concerns.
A smarter fire sprinkler fit for the smart home, Automist's runs directly off the domestic water main (max water demand 2.4 gallons per minute). Its pipes are only loaded with water when the system is activated. Low water usage reduces the cost of installation and the chance of leaks. When a traditional fire sprinkler activates, it can produce enough water to fill 3 bathtubs in 10 minutes. Automist uses only 5% of the water, filling only half of a bathtub in ten minutes.
Automist operates between 2-14 times faster than a typical concealed fire sprinkler. The delay in activation for sprinklers is the result of traditional systems being triggered by ceiling temperature breaking a mechanical glass bulb. This reduces the chance of burns for someone very close to a fire and minimises the production of life-threatening toxic gases. Our system is electronically activated and uses an infrared sensor to detect the fire using our proprietary, intelligent fire detection algorithm. Once the system is activated and the alarm is raised, a pump drives mains water through the unique wall-mounted spray head’s nozzle unit, targeting the fire with a dense fog of watermist. The system also has a black box and records the data from an incident to give homeowners a clearer overview of what happened.
