Dongpeng cooperated developed the special collection of “Act Upon Locality”. Starting from the concept of “locality”, this collection is produced out of raw materials like mine tailings, fly ash and other solid industrial wastes. With the industrial technology innovation and the life cycle management for the reuse of residual products and product, “Act Upon Locality” is perfectly aligned with national and international requirements for sustainable green development in material industry.
The project is centered on Dongpeng's Jiangxi Hukou Green Tech Materials Production Base. Within a radius of 100 kilometers, field research and excavation of various raw materials and building material products were conducted in Jingdezhen, Poyang Lake and Jiujiang, etc. The collection takes inspiration from nature and industrial spirit, transforming the industrial solid waste into aesthetic and practical building materials. And it is fair to say, this collection is a systematic representation of sustainable industry in local practice and application.
Extending the life of non-renewable resources is critical. By upcycling waste materials and integrating innovative insights for product design, we conserve natural resources and ensure inclusive growth. Adopting this approach, we can pave the way for a socially and economically harmonious development model and envision a sustainable future with zero-waste mining practices.
