Italian prepress and packaging design group, Blureflex introduced A127, a limited edition line of craft beers offered as a gift during its new headquarters’ inauguration party.
The brief: designing a product that embodies the inventive spirit of Blureflex. The strategy focused on developing the packaging as an artistic showcase. Surrealist artist SteBore lent his stylistic signature to create the illustrations.
The name is a reference from the land registry code of Stebore's municipality of residence: Albairate. A micro brewery was involved whose owners are residents in the same city.
The range includes 2 types of beer:
. Vilipendio (I.P.A. 4 versions) - Historic icons of art, poetry, culture, fantasy feel mocked, vilified nowadays. Their cry echoes powerfully: “Vilipendio!” (Insult!)
Versions:
1. David has lost his mind.
2. Beatrice covers Dante's eyes in front of a bonsai that is not the dark forest.
3. I’m not free: Freedom deprives itself.
4. All magic ends for the fairy made of beautiful things.
The seal graphic architecture emphasizes the characteristics of the more refined qualities’ beer. The messages of the subjects refer directly to the bitter notes of this type of beer.
. Nottetempo (Pils 3 versions) - Surreal things happen during the night - that is, “nottetempo”. Far from daylight and prying eyes, everyone can show their own essence. Nature transforms and becomes the grotesque representation of itself.
Versions:
1. Large-scale self-harm: the pig that eats itself.
2. Dead or alive, what? Schrödinger's cat, instead of coming out dead or alive from a box, has become the box itself.
3. Call out my name, come on! A mythological creature - the fusion of an orca and a female pig - represents the typical expression of when things become complex.
The open and linear graphic shapes, the bright colors and the ironic subjects that jump out of their center go hand in hand with the fresh and light taste of the drinkable blonde.
The disruptive nature of A127 beers fostered the event memorable for team and guests, and was also an opportunity to promote a corporate marketing action.
