NOU

At the studio, these are the design questions we had: how can one toy stays interesting for longer or how can it be played differently every time? How can this object be a dog thing but also a human thing? How can its form challenge the pet but also our own creativity? NOU™ is that answer.

NOU* (pronounced like ‘noo’ in noodles)is a play object for both your pet and you. To make it fun, the object invites you to be creative too in making various shapes. The owner gets to join in the play and get creative together with their pets. Nou can be a pretzel, a boating knot, a tossing ball or a tug of war rope. Literally, it can anything.

Works like an enrichment toy, treats can be hidden in the knots and rewarded when your pet successfully unknots them. This not only allow the pet to gain problem solving skills and confidence but the nosework exercise involved in sniffing out the treats brings forth great mental stimulation. It can also be knotted to a crate for crate training, and works for all treat types. If one is too easy for your pet, you can always level up and create more complicated puzzles with multiple NOU™!

Our play objects are design from the primitive perspective of the pet. The width of NOU is designed for the average mouth of the canine and that of NOUNOU sized down appropriately for younger ones. The O NOU is made for larger breeds. The elongated ends can reach deep in the mouth and massage the molars. These are the shapes that matter to them.

The NOU is designed not only in different color or sizes, but also texture – which is central to sensory play. We made this product in four different fabric choices: corduroy, nylon knit, reinforced teddy plush and faux mink to offer various degrees of softness or firmness. When multiple are knotted together, the new object also bring forth a more complex sensory and mental experience for the pet.
