isola sofa

If a chair is a minimal living space, a sofa is something between a room and a chair.
I designed isola sofa because I wanted to spend all day sometimes just on the sofa, sleeping, eating, drinking beer, and occasionally reading a book.

I drew sketches to make it comfortable in any position, such as sitting thuddingly in the front, sitting sideways with legs thrown out, leaning halfway up, or lying with legs stretched out, and I landed on a rounded design.
The large and small cushions, which can be easily removed and moved, can be used as pillows or placed under the elbows or legs, and are highly flexible and easy to maintain, including washing.
The left and right armrests are asymmetrically spanned by a large table for eating and a smaller table for placing books and glasses.

The design of this space was based on the concept of "a personal and free space for spending holidays," and after designing the sleeping and eating areas one by one, the shape of the space resembles an island floating in the sea.
