1. Congratulations on winning the NY Product Design Awards! Can you introduce yourself and share about what inspired you to pursue design as a career?

I was born in Argentina and moved to the United States in 2001. I graduated with Honors as an Interior Designer from the New York School of Interior Design.

I established Dalia Forman Design in 2023, with this in mind, “Luxury Design, Art and Heritage” work together creating functional and beautiful interiors, curated artwork and tablescapes.

My most important inspiration, mission and greatest achievement will always be to create functional, livable, meaningful homes filled with artistic, harmonious interiors, tablescapes, beauty and inspiration.

2. What does being recognized in the NY Product Design Awards mean to you?

It means a lot to me. It means when you have a vision and a trust- believe in your creation, nothing can stop you. Everyone has a talent inside of them.

3. How has this achievement impacted your career, team, or agency, and what opportunities has it brought so far?

It is going to open new doors in many areas of the industry of Art and Design. Every achievement is a positive thing and a motivation to do more.

4. What role does experimentation play in your creative process? Can you share an example?

Experimentation is part of solving problems. It is to try something new and see the results. It opens a door to creativity. My vase had a problem when I was putting it together. The original design was not working, and I decided to experiment with something different. It worked, and the vase looked much nicer.

5. What's the most unusual source of inspiration you've ever drawn from for a project?

I do get inspired by nature and art. There is not a specific place or moment.

6. What’s one thing you wish more people understood about the design process?

The design process takes time and patience. It should not be rushed because is when all the magic is happening, brainstorming, discussion, creativity and inspiration. It all comes alive.

7. How do you navigate the balance between meeting client expectations and staying true to your ideas?

Always listen to the client's needs and be open minded. I think with this philosophy you could accomplish much more.

8. What were the challenges you faced while working on your award-winning design, and how did you overcome them?

As I said before, I had an original design and sketched it in place. By the time I was halfway through putting together the vase, it was a problem with the sticks. Instead of giving up. I started to work on something different and tried new designs with the vase.

The positive parts that I was working on live and saw what I liked and what worked too. I wanted to keep most of the original design.

9. How do you recharge your creativity when you hit a creative block?

Look at the sky and take a few deep breaths. I'm gentle with myself and give time if needed. Usually, this process is fantastic and works incredibly all the time.

10. What personal values or experiences do you infuse into your designs?

There is a bright road ahead of you, and always see the positive side.

11. What is an advice that you would you give to aspiring designers aiming for success?

Small steps are going to lead you to something big. Never give up on your goals and dreams, no matter how long it takes.

12. If you could collaborate with any designer, past or present, who would it be and why?

I don't have anyone in particular I would love to collaborate with. I will be honored to collaborate with any designer from the past or present because I could learn from them and they could learn from me.,

13. What's one question you wish people would ask you about your work, and what's your answer?

Art and Design is storytelling for you. What would you tell us? I would say "Be creative, be inspired and let your imagination fly because the sky is always there for you."
