Mother and Child Desk

Our Mother and Child Desk originated with a client request and also offers a nod to how common it is in the age of Coronavirus disease to work full-time jobs from home. Specifically, we were asked to develop a desk that offered expansive work space for a parent and also space for a four-year old child to do his own “work” on a lower and smaller-scaled desk. The upper surface of the desk has ample area for various projects and has a pull-out tray for a laptop and a separate storage drawer. A second, lower plane angles down and flattens out to create a smaller surface for the child to use for writing and drawing. The desk is made of planks of Forest Stewardship Council certified wood and includes routed slots for computer cables and a small bookshelf for reference materials.

We were delighted to hear that the angled surface doubled as slide when both workers took a break from their projects!
