Makedo is a simple to use, open-ended system of tools for creative cardboard construction.

Makedo enables children as young as four to see value in everyday cardboard and to independently repurpose it into imaginative, playful, and useful creations of any size.

The Makedo system of tools allows children to safely and effectively cut, fold and connect corrugated cardboard with ease and independence in environments such as classrooms, maker-spaces, museums and homes.

With a mission to repurpose today, solve tomorrow, Makedo empowers children to develop the necessary skills; communication, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and empathy, to navigate and problem solve their way through our changing world.

The Discover kit includes each of the six uniquely designed elements comprising the Makedo system.
Scru: Connects one to three layers of corrugated cardboard.
Scru+: Connects two to five layers of corrugated cardboard.
Scru-Driver: Connects cardboard as simply as righty tighty, lefty loosey.
Safe-Saw: Steel blade with no sharp edges for swiftly sawing cardboard.
Fold-Roller: Perforates lines to sculpt cardboard like a pro.
Mini-Tool: For parallel and cooperative making.
The packaging opens into a handy carry & store toolbox.

The design intent with each part was to enable young makers to manifest their pure ideas through a physical creative process without adult interference. Ensuring high levels of safety and effectiveness were the primary goals.

As an extension to the core system of parts, a library of free to download 3D print designs is made available on Thingiverse, the world's largest 3D printing community. Construction capabilities are expanded with 3D parts such as hinges and brackets, whilst other 3D parts have been designed to connect additional building resources such as fabric and even other building systems such as Lego to cardboard. The open-ended possibilities are endless.
