Accordion reimagined
The HOHNER XS is a revolutionary and innovative accordion designed specifically for children aged 4 to 7. With its radically new design, it combines intuitive operation, ergonomic adjustment and technical innovation in a compact, lightweight format at a family-friendly price. And it is available as both a piano and button instrument.

Intuitive design for musical development
Children should be able to understand the instrument instinctively. The asymmetrical bass button arrangement and large air button make it easier to orientate oneself on the instrument. The piano keyboard, which is integrated directly into the housing, saves space and ensures a smooth playing feel.

Ergonomics as the key to musicality
Weighing only 2.9 kg, the HOHNER XS is around 60% lighter than conventional instruments. The ergonomic back panel with breathable fabric creates the ideal distance from the body. The angle supports a natural wrist and elbow position – for healthy music-making right from the start.
An innovative carrying system in the form of a vest with a Click “n” Play function allows players to change quickly. The LOXX button allows easy separation from the carrying system. The back stabilises the instrument with ergonomic padding and an integrated fastening.

Technology meets child-friendly functionality
At the heart of the HOHNER XS is a patented base frame that replaces four components and reduces weight and complexity. The modular keyboard with lever mechanism allows for piano and button variants. An adjustable hand strap on the bass ensures optimal bellows guidance. The child-safe locking system with rubber cord and zip is easy to use.

Sound that inspires
Despite its compact size, the HOHNER XS delivers an amazingly full sound with powerful bass tones.

Material innovation and sustainability
The choice of materials was a central aspect of the development. Except for the classic-looking bellows, everything has been redesigned: modern, lightweight and robust materials replace traditional wooden housings. The instrument impresses with its child-friendly shapes and high-quality appearance.
An ergonomic gig bag makes it easy to transport and provides reliable protection – ideal for everyday teaching. It can be taken out directly in playing position.
