Get Set NYC is an AI-powered Chrome extension designed to make moving to New York City feel clearer, calmer, and far less overwhelming.

Choosing a neighborhood from afar is notoriously difficult. Newcomers often jump between rental sites, crime maps, transit tools, blogs, and Reddit threads, yet still struggle to answer a simple question: “Would this actually work for my life?” The challenge is not a lack of information, but the effort required to interpret scattered, emotionally charged data and turn it into a confident decision.

Get Set NYC brings the signals that matter most into one decision-ready snapshot. Safety, noise, rent reality, transit access, and local context are structured into a clear, scannable experience designed to be understood in seconds. Instead of comparing raw numbers across platforms, users can quickly form a grounded mental model of what a neighborhood feels like to live in.

AI plays a central role in reducing interpretation effort. Ask Local AI translates complex datasets into plain language, helping users understand what the numbers mean in everyday terms. It explains New York–specific context, highlights key trade-offs, and supports users in forming their own judgment rather than deciding for them. AI outputs are paired with verified sources and contextual notes to stay factual, neutral, and trustworthy.

Get Set NYC also connects data with lived experience. Community insights are curated and organized into clear themes such as international newcomer concerns, LGBTQ+ safety, commuting realities, and lifestyle trade-offs.
