LEOMIR was founded in Germany by two Italian master pastry chefs, Leonardo Scala and Mirko Frustaci, who together bring over 30 years of international haute pâtisserie experience. From Michelin-starred kitchens in Italy to the German *Konditormeister* certification system, from ALMA to Le Cordon Bleu London, and collaborations with five-star hotels and groups such as Marriott, Mandarin Oriental, Andaz, and Käfer — their journeys converge into a brand that merges Italian excellence with German precision.
Positioned in the premium segment, LEOMIR’s mission is clear: to make iconic Italian pastries accessible while producing in Bavaria, without compromise on quality, time, or ingredients. In 2025, the duo was selected for Team Germany at the Panettone World Championship in Milan, where the team won awards including “Best Sourdough Flower,” “Best Ice Cream Cup,” and “Best Presentation Table.”
The project focused on developing packaging for the brand’s artisanal panettone and colomba, capable of expressing its Italian-German identity and standing out in the European premium market.
The creative concept is rooted in one key idea: the product is alive — and so is the brand. At the heart of the narrative is a ten-year-old living sourdough starter and over 36 hours of natural leavening. These are not technical details, but a manifesto of intentional slowness in a fast-paced world.
The packaging becomes a multilayer storytelling ecosystem built on three pillars: the cultural bridge between Italy and Germany, the people (two friends, two masters), and time (slow craftsmanship). Bilingual copy reinforces this hybrid identity.
Color palettes — deep blue and gold for panettone, light blue and gold for colomba — convey elegance and heritage. Refined lettering, the Bavarian lion crest, handmade-style illustrations, including the founders’ portrait, introduce the brand’s manifesto: “Two friends, one dream, and a living sourdough.”
Premium offset printing, metallic gold Pantone, matte lamination, and spot UV finishes elevate the tactile experience, while a QR code expands the story digitally.
This project proves that tradition, when authentically narrated, becomes contemporary luxury — and design becomes culture.
