Responding to a missing gap in small seating options to pull up to a gathering space or put back in a corner as a table. This stool is intended to be equally suited in front of a fireplace of a large formal area, a small condo space, or a multi-functional exhibition space.
The stool retains a simple but uniquely identifiable shape that carries a social statement. And in this case, an investment in youth in woodworking. The fabrication of this product utilizes a local community woodshop to provide the under 30 age group an opportunity to demonstrate their expertise in woodworking and to advance the craft of fine furniture.
An unexpected gesture to a clean minimalist shape, the concept of this stool is a modest cube with a deconstructed underside: a quiet appearance on one side and bold gesture on the other; a contrast between shell and underside and between line and curve.
