KINLOOP
A Parent–Child Interactive Upper-Limb Rehabilitation Device for Children
KINLOOP is designed for children experiencing upper-limb mobility limitations, reduced hand–eye coordination, and low motivation for rehabilitation following a stroke. It transforms repetitive rehabilitation exercises into engaging parent–child cooperative games.
The system consists of a cylindrical smart terminal, two rotatable displays, two interactive training rods, and an integrated storage module. Each training rod features multiple pressure-sensitive pads, motion sensors, and vibration feedback. It recognizes actions such as gripping, pressing, lifting, rotating, and coordinated two-handed movement. Games involving color tracking, rhythmic tapping, shape assembly, and cooperative challenges guide children through fine motor and upper-limb control exercises.
Parents can participate using the second training rod through cooperative, competitive, and imitation modes. This shared interaction strengthens the sense of companionship and helps reduce children’s resistance to repetitive rehabilitation. The terminal records repetitions, reaction speed, range of motion, and training duration, presenting progress through clear visual feedback. These records help caregivers and rehabilitation professionals adjust the level of difficulty according to each child’s progress.
With its warm yellow palette, rounded form, and modular structure, KINLOOP creates a safe, approachable, and playful rehabilitation experience suitable for homes, rehabilitation centers, and children’s activity spaces.
