1 in 7 people worldwide live with IBS. That means one in seven people plan their day around food, avoid restaurants, read every label, and still aren't sure how their gut will react to what they eat. For them, food isn't just fuel – it's a source of daily stress.
Our mission: a world where anyone with a sensitive stomach can enjoy life and eat with confidence.
Stummy is a gut health companion app built for people with sensitive stomachs. It brings together personalized meal planning, AI-powered food scanning, and expert guides – all in one place, designed to make everyday eating feel less overwhelming and more like a choice.
Users can scan barcodes or ingredient labels to instantly understand a product's FODMAP content, follow a weekly meal plan built around their dietary needs, swap any meal for a Low FODMAP alternative, and explore articles and guides that help them understand their gut better every day.
Every design decision was made to feel approachable. The name – a blend of Stomach and Tummy – is warm and easy to remember. The logo is a soft, abstract shape that brings together the idea of inner balance, the form of a gut, and the letter "S". The primary green feels fresh and calming, and the rounded type reinforces a sense of comfort throughout the whole experience. Icons follow the same visual language – soft, rounded, and consistent across every screen. The app supports both light and dark mode, dynamic type, and VoiceOver – so it works for everyone, in any context.
Stummy grew out of the logo and became a character users meet throughout the app – a calm, patient guide who simplifies their daily food routine and makes nutrition easy to understand.
Stummy was built with one simple belief: that a sensitive stomach should never stop anyone from living fully.
