Vivi is an iOS personal AI assistant designed for children and teenagers—helping with everyday tasks like homework support, stress management, and planning the day through friendly, emotionally-aware interaction.
The core UX challenge was balancing simplicity (short attention spans, intuitive navigation) with trust and emotional engagement. Instead of a “generic assistant,” Vivi introduces customizable animal avatars (e.g., cat, rabbit, dog), letting each child choose a character that feels like “their” companion. This choice becomes the personalization anchor—building a sense of ownership, comfort, and continuity across sessions.
We designed clear, bite-sized task flows and lightweight navigation that keeps the experience playful without losing structure. Personalization continues through features like “favorite tasks,” so kids can quickly return to what they love, while the assistant stays supportive—whether it’s explaining homework, offering calming tips, or simply making the moment lighter.
The outcome validated the approach: the product raised $0.85M in investment and achieved 84.3% positive reaction from children and parents during early testing. The UX direction demonstrates how AI-personalized interfaces can feel human, safe, and engaging—especially for younger audiences—without sacrificing usability.
